I is for “Impressions”

I is for Impressions. Impressions are a fancy way of saying ‘ads.’ There’s a few interesting nuances to our impressions versus traditional media’s, however:

Unlike a billboard or a print ad, which exists and waits to be seen by someone, our impressions gestate in the ad server and are not ‘born’ until a user with intent pulls up a web page or app where that impressions can be delivered.

So in order for our impressions to exist in the real, non-digital world, they have to be called into being by end-users, who essentially create them out of thin air (or digital code). This makes them so much more efficient to the client as instead of renting space and having that space wasted by non-interested viewers or even no viewers at all, these impressions are created and delivered, on demand, to users who have displayed prior interest in what those impressions might say.
